Nenana River

AK • US

A glacial river draining the Alaska Range, the Nenana parallels the Parks
Highway past the entrance to Denali National Park and is the busiest
commercial whitewater run in Interior Alaska. The Nenana River Gorge
delivers about 10 miles of big, cold, continuous Class III-IV — Royal
Flush, Coffee Grinder, Ice Worm — in a steep canyon below the park.
Upstream of the gorge are mellow Class II-III scenic floats. Snowmelt and
glacial flow peak in summer.
