Yampa River

The Yampa River is the last major free-flowing tributary in the Colorado
River system — 250 miles from the Flat Tops in northwest Colorado to the
Green River confluence at Echo Park in Dinosaur National Monument. The
46-mile Yampa Canyon section through Dinosaur is a permit-required
spring-only multi-day Class III-IV float featuring Warm Springs Rapid.
Upper sections near Steamboat offer Class II-III day floats through the
town's free-access whitewater park.
